I hadn’t been to Brockhurst Farm before so I was suuuuuper excited for this Mt Mee wedding! Cait, a teacher, and Pat, a lawyer, are a really lovely couple who love rugby and know how to have a good time! All they wanted for their wedding day was to have a super fun party with their favourite people.
Brockhurst Farm is a really sweet, laid back kind of venue. Set on a farm, at quiet but beautiful Mt Mee, there’s animals and plenty of space to spread out. Cait and Pat had their ceremony on the ridge at the back of the property but there’s a few other options too. They followed this with a relaxed marquee style reception with buffet dinner served by a sensational food truck.
How gorgeous is Cait’s bouquet?! She made it herself and even included a tiny pineapple in it. Stunning & unique!
The stunning ceremony location! This is a fair way down the back of the property but the walk is so worth it. The day was super windy so we had a lot of hair flying and a few issues with arbour staying upright but it wasn’t the end of the world. It’s all what you make of it!
One of the best parts of Brockhurst Farm is that if you don’t want to, you don’t need to go anywhere offsite to do photos. After the guests made their way to the reception area we used the area around where the ceremony had been to do bridal party photos to begin with. After 15 minutes with the whole group, the bridal party made their way back to have drinks and canapes so I could have Cait and Pat on their own. This is always the best way to do photos of just the bride & groom. They can relax and just be together. Plus there’s no distracting whistling and sarcastic comments from groomsmen! It honestly makes such a difference to the feeling you can see in the images. I can’t recommend it enough!
And then the party started to get wild…(ie. the best bit haha)
A super sweet review from Cait:
Kirsty has an incredibly calming presence which my husband and I appreciated as we’re a little camera shy. I love love love how Kirsty captured our wedding and cannot stop looking at the photos. Our guests at the wedding are still talking about Kirsty and how lovely she was/is, she even got down and had a boogy on the dance floor!! She mailed the most gorgeous little gift after the wedding which included a USB with all the photos and some printed photos. Such a lovely touch and very much appreciated – it gave me all the warm and fuzzies!
