I do have to admit that I do a little happy dance whenever I get to do a Hillstone wedding because it’s only a 12minute drive from my house. As much as I love a destination wedding it’s nice to have one so close to home sometimes! It’s also a gorgeous spot with the most epic hedges surrounding the ceremony area.
I always love a good petal toss – or petal attack as it usually turns out to be!! Whenever I see there’s going to be a petal toss I always try to encourage guests to throw the petals UP rather than at the happy couple but there’s inevitably someone who just can’t help themselves haha.
Congratulations photos are some of my favourite of the day. There’s always so much joy on people’s faces as they come to congratulate the happy couple for the first time. They’re usually more focused on the couple than on the camera which always makes for great shots.
For portraits we just explored around the golf course that’s connected to Hillstone on a couple of golf buggies. We found lots of gorgeous green spaces and had LOTS of fun while doing it!
The gorgeous setup for the reception in the Rosewood Room at Hillstone. Beautiful florals and details contributed to a lovely intimate feel.
One of Sarah’s girlfriends has a business called The Rustic at Heart who made the wooden hoop with their names sitting behind them. It makes such a difference to speech photos if you take into consideration what the backgrounds will be and dress them up a bit like this.
